This is a glossary to help people understand and use to describe administration related activities.

- Example: Perhaps we should be looking for a new advertising agency.

- The governing body of a nation, state, or community.
- Example: The government needs to take a greater responsibility to ensure students positive mental health and well being.

- A matter of business for or under consideration by a legislative body.
- Example: U.S. fisheries legislation requires National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) to attend to the critical social and economic issues surrounding the definition and identification of fishing communities, and to the effects that changes to the physical environment and regulatory decisions can have on such communities.

- An organized body of people with a particular purpose, especially a business, society, association, etc.
- Example: Eco-metropolis is the touristic investigation of strategies using both urban and natural systems of organization to create a unique territory of cohesive balance within the urban ecology of Houston.

- Distribution means to spread the product throughout the marketplace such that a large number of people can buy it.
- Example: They also concentrate on serving products which everyone can access and this leads to believe they consider wide distribution (production orientation) as an important factor.

- The action of buying and selling goods and services.
- Example: Trade networks that provided adequate supplies of culturally 'appropriate' food, drink and other consumer goods for the newly arrived population.

- Example: His administration has promised to cover Americans with preexisting conditions even as it has called for the Supreme Court to invalidate the ACA, which provides consumer protections for patients with preexisting conditions.

- Supervision is a workplace activity in which a manager oversees the activities and responsibilities of employees he manages.
- Example: The supervision of over sixty preservation projects, and the creation of an archeological museum as well as a national library,.

- To facilitate means to make things easier and help them run more smoothly. A facilitator is the person whose job is to facilitate.
- Example: The course facilitator is there to provide guidance and encouragement for the group to find out the answers for themselves.

- The verb to coordinate means to arrange for two or more parties (people or groups) to work together. The person who coordinates tasks or activities is known as a coordinator.
- Example: We need someone to coordinate the conference call with our business partners in Europe and Asia.

- The verb to schedule means to plan for an event (such as meetings, conference calls and deliveries) to take place at a certain time and place.
- Example: Peter’s stuck in a traffic jam. We may run into scheduling problems if we can’t confirm what time he’ll be at the office for the meeting.

- The word budget can be used as a noun to mean the amount of money that’s made available for spending.
- Example: If you’re organizing a year-end office party, you’ll have to work out a budget for it.

- The verb to negotiate means to formally discuss something and come to an agreement.
- Example: After a week of negotiation, we still can’t agree on the terms of the contract.

- The verb to implement means to effectively start using or enforcing an action or plan. You might implement a set of measures or rules, for instance.
- Example: We’re now ready to implement security measures that we hope will make this office building a safer place for our employees.

- The noun merchandise simply refers to the products or goods that are bought and sold by your company.
- Example: This year, there has been an increase in our imports of foreign merchandise.

- The noun profitability refers to the profit or amount of money gained from your sales or business.
- Example: Management would like you to conduct a study of the profitability of expanding our market overseas.

- The noun turnover is pretty interesting. It may refer to the amount of money your company receives in sales, or the rate at which your company’s merchandise is sold and replaced by new stock.
